WELCOME BACK

I hope that your family has had a restful and fun filled summer. I am excited to be back at school and ready to teach, learn and grow alongside my students. I have spent the summer with my family and friends, but also adding new lesson plans and ideas to the P.E. curriculum. Needless to say, I am READY TO MOVE with your kids! 

The first few weeks of P.E. in all grades, Toddlers through 4th grade we will be focusing on getting to know each other as a class through active team building activities, with a focus on the St. Paul's life skills of the month--Caring and Sharing. 

Please come to Curriculum Night to receive more information about what your child will be doing in P.E. this year. 

Dates for Curriculum Night:

Toddler/Preschool: Thursday, August 22nd 6:00 PM

Prekindergarten/Kindergarten: Thursday August 29th 6:00 PM

Lower School: Thursday, September 5th 6:00 PM

What does your child need to be prepared for P.E.? 

On the days that your child has P.E., please have them wear (or bring to school) appropriate shoes so they can fully participate. Due to safety concerns, your child will not be able to participate if they do not have safe shoes on. 

Examples of shoes that are not appropriate: Sandals, Crocs, flip-flops, boots with heels, Ugg's, shoes with wheels, and slippery dress shoes. All shoes must have skid resistant soles, cover the entire foot and be properly secured to the foot. If you have any questions about what kinds of shoes are permitted, please do not hesitate to email me at: cshurtleff@speds.org 

*If your child would like to bring an extra pair of shoes to change into (and the classroom teacher permits it) they can keep them in their cubby and change into them in time for P.E.
