This week in ECC P.E. we have been moving our bodies around the room with an array of colored scarves. The students got a big workout as we experimented with creative movement (we danced, we moved like different animals, follow the leader, running down the hill as we hold the scarves in the air), and also when using upper body muscles that are multi-directional (big arms circles, small arm circles, scarf through the legs, bilateral movement of hands). Throwing the scarves up in the air and catching them, and throwing them from hand to hand, we practiced our hand-eye coordination. PK and K even practiced the beginning stages of juggling :) by throwing two scarves in the air and switching the hands that caught them. Note: A few students asked me if they could take the scarves home :) I suggested to students they could practice at home with Kleenex, old handkerchiefs, or balls of socks!
Here are some pictures of our Toddler friends exploring with the scarves:
Thank you, Mrs. Rempel for taking such great pictures!
