Parachute

When I tell people (young and old) that I am a P.E. teacher I most always get the question, "Do you do the Parachute?" and then "That was my favorite!" and then they usually mumble something about being picked last for kickball....

Using the parachute in P.E. is not only fun, physically challenging (your arms get surprisingly tired!) it is a great activity to teach and practice teamwork and cooperation. I love seeing how both the class and individual stand out to work together to move the "chute"--it can't be done alone, and the games don't work unless you work together.
